Why a collective, not a name

Elope to Adventure began the way most good ideas do: with a complaint. The photographers we admired most were booking eighteen months out and charging like it, while couples with the same dream and saner budgets were settling for less. So a group of us, working photographers scattered across the mountain towns and coastlines we shoot, pooled what we knew: the trails, the permits, the celebrants, the weather patterns, the light.

A collective means you get the photographer with the deepest knowledge of your destination, not whoever’s flight was cheapest. It means local scouting instead of first-time guessing. And because we spend nothing on ad campaigns and celebrity overheads, it means world-class work from $5,000 with travel included, not $14,000 before it.

What we believe

The landscape is a guest at your wedding, not a backdrop. We photograph couples small inside big places because that is what the day actually feels like.

Documentary first. We direct just enough to put you where the light is, then let the day happen. The images people cry over are never the posed ones.

Leave No Trace, always. Every photographer in the collective follows Leave No Trace principles: legal locations, protected meadows left unstepped-on, permits filed, wild places left wild for the next couple.

Every love, every body, every pace. LGBTQ+ couples, anxious hikers, grandmothers who want to be there: we plan routes and days that fit the people actually living them.
